Expectations

Expectations of the Coaches:

Coaches are to make and keep the game fun and demanding. They are to quality and meaningful training sessions scheduled twice a week. Training sessions should be set. Training will occur no matter how many players attend. However, coaches should try and be flexible on occasion to adjust training so that as many players can attend the practice. Coaches should have appropriate and up to date gear and training equipment (cones, pennies, goals, balls, etc.) to properly train. Coaches will be required to continually improve their coaching techniques through licensing, clinics, books, DVD's, training, etc. Coaches should make decisions that are always best for the team. Coaches are to play each game to win with the mentality of making the game fun. Every player should get playing time, however, this is not recreational soccer and the best players should see the majority of playing time. Each coach should have specific rules for their own team(s) (i.e. consequences for missing practice). Coaches should take the time beyond the practices and games to acquaint themselves with the players and parents to create a strong support system. A solid communication system needs to be established so that everyone (parents, players, coaches, administrators, etc.) can continually be informed with what is taking place.

Expectations of the Players:

Players should have CBFC soccer as their primary sport. They should not be discouraged from playing other sports or being involved with other activities, but CBFC should take priority. When conflicts do occur, consequences will be attached and enforced. Players are to show respect to coaches and trainers at all time. Players are to be on time and prepared for training sessions with proper equipment. They are responsible for letting the coaches know when and why they cannot attend games or practices 24 hours in advance. Players are to bring a positive and open attitude to games and practice. Players need to be coachable and willing to do as their coach directs. Any personal issues (i.e. playing time, positioning, etc.) should be discussed away from the rest of the team. Players are expected to work on their own time if they want to continue to improve and be a part of the team. Players are also expected to show maturity and sportsmanship while playing soccer. Any inappropriate behavior will not be tolerated.

Expectations of the Parents:

Parents are responsible for getting their child to practices and games at the times assigned by the coach. They are to support the coach's decisions and help encourage their child to do what is asked. When problems do arise, parents are more than welcome to communicate with the coaches and administrators. Problems cannot be resolved if proper communication does not occur. Parents are to help monitor and encourage their children to work on their own. Parents are also to show positive support during games. Degrading comments towards any of the players or parents or to the opposing team shall be refrained. Remember that your child is not an adult, does not think like an adult and does not digest information as quickly as an adult. Their brains do not fully develop until the age of 25. So please take that into consideration when your child is on the pitch.
